OVERVIEW

Well, everyone, you all knew this day was coming, and while I kick and scream "Don't let it be," it is. After twenty years of island living, laughing, drinking, and enjoying every single damn minute owning Sopra Mare and Bordo Mare, I sold them.

Sad, I believe I know each of you personally that’s stayed at the villa. We’ve shared emails and phone calls. I know your kids, watched them grow over the years as you returned like swallows to Capistrano every year. I’ve lived with your life’s struggles— sickness, cancer, divorce, financial ruin, and yes, ultimately, the death of someone you loved close to you. We’ve riden out hurricanes, floods, droughts, tropical storms, and even gone broke together. But not for a minute would I trade a single one of these adventures this little island has given us. And most importantly, I wouldn’t trade a single moment you have shared and given me.

SUMMARY

Man, my mind is willing for us to do another twenty years at the villas with you and me. Unfortunately, not the case after more than four score years on Earth. I have abused my body with too many cigarettes, too much cheap Kendall Jackson Chardonnay, and other unnamed vices. Which have worn me down physically to the point that last September was my final island trip. God Damn! Sure, it has been a great run. It makes me laugh when I think of all the things that happened at Sopra Mare and Bordo Mare. And at the same time tears are streaming down my cheeks as I write this final “Ur St. John FiX.” Such is life, now leaving you a final personal thought on my existence and success.

I’m not the smartest guy walking this Earth. In fact, not even close, but what made me a success on St. John and with other ventures you ask? I never once gave up on anything. When people said “ It can’t be done,” that only pushed me harder to find an alternative for success. So, when everyone around you tells you “no,” you say, bullshit! Just do it another way and most times this worked for me as I know it will for you.

Until you come once again to the villas, I’ll leave the light on for you at your island home - Bordo Mare and Sopra Mare with Mike and Lori. Hope you enjoy the close out music it was done especially for you and the island I love so much.
